On offer is a Chinese porcelain enamelled barrel vase or jar with cover, produced at Jingdezhen in Jiangxi province. The mark beneath was used between 1949 and 1966, placing this example firmly within the mid-20th-century output of the region. Jingdezhen has been China’s principal porcelain centre for over a thousand years, renowned for its refined clay body and high-quality enamelling. This piece is decorated in vivid yellow and turquoise enamels with traditional scrolling motifs and pierced detailing to the cover. Standing approximately 4.5 inches tall, it is in good condition and displays strong, bright colours typical of the period.
