Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Vase Kangxi Revival Late Qing Dynasty
£ 75.00
On offer is an antique Chinese blue and white porcelain vase hand painted with dragons among scrolling foliage, bearing a Kangxi mark to the base. This piece likely dates to the Kangxi Revival period of the late Qing Dynasty (circa 1875–1908), a time when earlier Kangxi-style decoration was reinterpreted with renewed precision and lively brushwork.
The vase is accompanied by a matching lid topped with a dog of foo (guardian lion) finial. The painting is detailed and energetic, featuring classic blue and white tones with dragons woven through floral and leafy motifs. Condition is good for age, showing minor fretting and a chip on the rim, as well as a chip beneath the lid’s rim. The overall height including the lid is approximately 8.5 inches.
A characterful late Qing example reflecting the enduring influence of Kangxi decorative traditions.
