Adams Blue and White Jasperware Biscuit Barrel Classical Design
£ 45.00
On offer is an English blue and white Jasperware biscuit barrel by Adams, featuring finely modelled classical figures in relief against a deep cobalt ground. Adams, established in 1657, was one of the long-standing Staffordshire potteries and became well known for its high-quality stonewares, including Jasperware inspired by neoclassical taste and the success of Wedgwood’s earlier developments.
The barrel stands at approximately 5.5 inches tall excluding the handle. It is in good condition with no chips or cracks. The plated metal mount and lid show wear, now revealing the underlying nickel, and the lid has a slight wobble, common in antique examples. A highly decorative piece of English Jasperware with strong neoclassical appeal.
