This piece was produced by Caithness Glass Ltd., founded in 1961 in Wick, Scotland. Known for their finely crafted glassware and awarded a Royal Warrant in 1968, Caithness quickly became internationally recognized.

The designer, Colin Terris, is regarded as the father of modern paperweight design. Joining Caithness in 1968, he introduced groundbreaking styles and brought new artistic prestige to the medium.

This design, titled “Lobster”, is part of a special Sea Creatures series. It features a stylized lobster motif embedded into finely powdered glass with a sandy appearance, encapsulated under a domed lens with controlled air bubbles to mimic underwater movement.
