This example bears the maker’s mark (visible on the underside), affirming its authenticity.

The box is lined in original deep red velvet, giving it a warm, luxurious contrast to the shimmering brass exterior. The lid opens smoothly and the box is currently unlocked, although the original key is no longer present. There is a locking mechanism and keyhole visible, adding to the ornate charm.

Originally fitted with four rubber feet (now removed due to deterioration), the underside is clean and structurally sound. The condition is overall very good for its age, with typical minor surface wear and patina consistent with over 120 years of history.
