19th Century Salt Glaze Ewer with Applied Floral Decoration
£ 45.00
On offer is an antique 19th-century salt glaze ewer, notable for its impressive form and richly detailed applied flower head decoration. Salt-glazed stoneware was widely produced across Europe during the 18th and 19th centuries, recognised for its durable surface and distinctive mottled finish achieved through salt firing.
This is a large example, standing at approximately 12 inches tall, with a strong sculptural presence and well-applied decorative bands. Condition is good for its age and size, though there are chips to the foot and a repair to the spout, all clearly shown in the images.
