My name is Walter O’Neill, founder and sole owner of Antiques Arena.
For more than 30 years, I have dedicated my life to buying, selling, researching, collecting, and studying antiques and collectibles. What began as a passion became a business, and that business has grown into one of the largest independent antiques education and knowledge platforms online.
Unlike many commentators within the antiques industry, my knowledge has not been gained solely through books or academic study. It has been earned through decades of hands-on experience handling thousands of objects, attending auctions, sourcing collections, trading antiques, working directly with collectors, and continually investing my own money in the market.
Every lesson, success, and mistake has contributed to the expertise I share today.

In 2026, Antiques Arena began an international collaboration with Antiques to Vintage Magazine, an established Australian publication dedicated to antiques, vintage, and collectables.
As part of this partnership, I will be contributing a series of articles sharing first-hand experiences from more than thirty years in the British antiques trade. My debut article will appear in the magazine’s milestone 100th edition, a significant achievement for any specialist publication.
