On offer is an original WW2 Transmitter Breast No1, a Bakelite chest mounted microphone used by British military radio operators during the Second World War. Designed to be worn on the chest using its original straps, the projecting horn allowed the operator’s voice to be transmitted clearly while keeping both hands free for operating field radio equipment. Original wartime communications equipment of this type has become increasingly sought after by collectors of military technology and memorabilia.

This WW2 Transmitter Breast No1 is constructed from Bakelite with its original fabric straps and metal fittings. It remains in good condition for its age and measures approximately 7 inches wide, 9 inches tall including the horn and 5.5 inches deep. A scarce and fascinating piece of wartime communications equipment with excellent display appeal.
