WW2 Radio Operator Transmitter Breast No1 Bakelite Microphone

£25.00

On offer is an original World War Two radio operator’s microphone known as the Transmitter Breast No1. Worn on the chest with straps around the neck, this device used a projecting horn to capture and amplify the operator’s voice during communication. These transmitters formed part of standard field radio equipment throughout the war and are now uncommon survivors of wartime communication technology.

Made from Bakelite with fabric straps and metal fittings, this example remains in good condition for age. It measures approximately 7 inches wide, 9 inches tall including the horn, and 5.5 inches deep. A rare and intriguing piece of WW2 radio equipment with strong collector interest.
