Watercolour Painting by Charles H Branscombe British Early 20th Century
£150.00
On offer is a charming watercolour painting by Charles H. Branscombe (British, 1891–1922), depicting a tranquil rural lane with cottages and distant church spires. Branscombe is known for his delicate landscapes and atmospheric village scenes, produced during his short but productive career in the early 20th century.
This example is signed and dated lower left and is presented in a later frame measuring approximately 22.5 × 18.5 inches. A gallery label from Stable Gallery, Dorset, remains on the reverse, noting a purchase made there in 1994 for £235. The sheet shows areas of foxing, yet the composition retains strong visual appeal, with colours and detail still displaying beautifully.
A desirable and sensitively painted work from a noted British landscape artist.
