On offer is a vintage USSR porcelain tiger figure produced by the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory. Modelled in a seated pose, this finely detailed animal study is decorated with hand painted striping and a soft naturalistic colour palette typical of mid twentieth century Russian porcelain.

The Lomonosov Porcelain Factory, founded in Saint Petersburg in the eighteenth century, is one of Russia’s most respected porcelain manufacturers and is particularly well known for its animal figures and sculptural decorative wares during the Soviet period. This vintage porcelain tiger reflects that tradition of skilled modelling and expressive form. The factory mark is present though slightly worn, consistent with age and use.

A characterful example of a Lomonosov porcelain tiger that brings authenticity and collectability to any vintage or ceramic collection.
