On offer is a late Victorian to Edwardian pressed glass celery vase dating to approximately 1880 to 1910. The glass has a soft amethyst purple colour and an elegant pedestal form with a flared, ruffled rim.
The moulded decoration combines diamond point, starburst and vertical fluted motifs, finished with a decorative knop and broad circular foot. Celery vases were used on formal dining tables when celery was regarded as a prized delicacy and a sign of refined entertaining.
