On offer is a very rare 1903 pattern short bayonet that was later converted into a Commando dagger, a type associated with elite British forces including the Commandos and the SAS. The 1903 short bayonet itself is an uncommon pattern, produced only between 1903 and 1907, making surviving examples desirable in their own right. This piece is understood to have seen service before being professionally altered into a double-edged fighting knife for clandestine operations, a practice known to have been carried out for specialist units. The dagger measures approximately 320 mm in total length and shows genuine wear consistent with age and operational use. A scarce and historically important military edged weapon.
