Large Hammered Copper Tray by John Pearson for Newlyn Arts and Crafts
£200.00
On offer is a large antique hammered copper tray made by John Pearson for the Newlyn Industrial Class during the Arts and Crafts Movement. Pearson was a leading figure in the early Newlyn School, known for his hand-worked copper with textured surfaces, punched borders, and distinctive decorative details. This example shows his characteristic craftsmanship, with a hammered finish, raised rim, punched edge and twisted side handles.
The tray bears the John Pearson stamp on the reverse. The front retains a warm copper tone while the back shows an untouched aged patina. Condition is good, with no splits or restoration. It measures approximately 16 inches by 24 inches. A fine and substantial example of Arts and Crafts copperwork by John Pearson.
