The necklace is finished with brass fittings and a decorative rectangular box clasp set with matching glass beads. An unused attachment hole in the clasp suggests that it may originally have carried a third strand. It still presents beautifully as a double strand necklace and is a striking example of vintage Italian glass jewellery.
