Townshend & Co Brass Spirit Kettle Victorian Arts and Crafts
£125.00
On offer is a late 19th-century brass spirit kettle on stand by Townshend & Co, dating to around 1890. This is a genuine Victorian example in the Arts and Crafts style, complete with its original stand and original burner — a rare survival. The kettle reflects the quality brass and copper work for which Townshend & Co were known. Operating in Birmingham from the 1890s, the firm (later Townshend Art Metal Co.) produced fine art-metalware and holloware for high-end retailers, earning a strong reputation for craftsmanship.
The piece stands approximately 12.5 inches tall and is in good condition for its age, showing expected wear consistent with long use but remaining complete and highly decorative.
