The lamp retains its original industrial character and is stamped NCBO to the base, denoting National Coal Board Operations and linking it directly to Britain’s nationalised mining industry. Thomas Williams safety lamps are recognised worldwide for their quality and association with the Welsh coal industry. This example stands approximately 10 inches tall and displays an attractive aged patina acquired through years of use. Please note part of the brass maker’s plaque is missing, as shown in the photographs.
