Pierre Jules Mene Bronze Duck Sculpture French Animalier Art
£245.00
On offer is a bronze duck sculpture signed by Pierre-Jules Mêne (1810–1879), one of the leading French Animalier sculptors of the 19th century. Mêne was celebrated for his finely observed depictions of animals, producing bronzes of exceptional detail and naturalism during the Second Empire period. His signed works remain highly collectible and are recognised for their quality of casting and lifelike modelling.
This example, standing at approximately 6 inches in height, represents one of his less frequently encountered subjects. The piece displays carefully rendered feather textures, a poised stance and a naturalistic base, all characteristic of Mêne’s craftsmanship. The bronze retains an attractive, even patina and is in good condition with no noted damage. A refined and desirable piece of French Animalier sculpture.
