This smaller sized example has excellent decorative presence and retains its original thermometer section and classical banjo form associated with late Victorian and Edwardian interiors.

Banjo barometers became highly popular in Britain during the nineteenth century, prized for both their practical use and decorative craftsmanship. Their elegant elongated shape was inspired by the form of a musical banjo, often featuring carved woodwork and detailed dials designed to complement period homes.

This example has a few small issues to note. There is a small chip on the carved arch beneath the top finial and the glass plate covering the thermometer is cracked. Aside from these points it displays very well with good overall antique character. The size is approximately 17 inches tall.
