On offer is an early 19th century Swansea porcelain plate, hand painted with a vibrant floral spray and finished with a scalloped rim edged in gilt. Dating to around 1820, it reflects the refined enamel decoration and elegant forms produced by the Swansea works during their brief but influential period of porcelain production in Wales.
The plate displays skilful brushwork in vivid pinks, purples, blues and greens, complemented by delicate gilding along the rim. Swansea porcelain is admired for its quality paste and accomplished decoration, making surviving pieces increasingly desirable.
