Smålands Design operated in the Småland region of Sweden, an area renowned for its tradition of skilled craftsmanship in wood, metalwork and glass. Although little documentation survives regarding the firm, pieces attributed to them are now highly collectible due to their striking forms, quality materials and scarcity on the market.

This Swedish mid-century modern bowl survives in good vintage condition with only a minor graze to the rim, largely unobtrusive when displayed. The painted metal bowl retains its soft matte finish, while the wooden supports show a warm, smooth tone. Approximate dimensions are 11.5 inches long, 10.5 inches wide and 3.5 inches high.
