On offer is an original Arts and Crafts copper teapot by W. A. S. Benson, one of the leading designers of the movement and a contemporary of William Morris. Benson’s metalwork is celebrated for its forward-looking modernity, functional elegance and finely executed craftsmanship, all of which are evident in the balanced form and mixed-metal construction of this teapot. Marked examples are notably scarce.

The teapot is made from copper with brass fittings, retaining its characteristic Benson profile. Condition is fair: there is a large dent to the foot rim and a smaller dent to the top rim, both consistent with hollow-ware construction and potentially restorable. A rare opportunity to acquire an authenticated Benson piece.
