On offer is a rare brass embossed colliery check issued by Amalgamated Anthracite Collieries Ltd for the New Cross Hands Collieries. These checks were used throughout the mining industry as identification tags for miners, often serving as tally or shift markers. This example is stamped with the number 154 and displays clear raised lettering. It survives in good condition with age-related wear and measures approximately 30mm in diameter. A scarce piece of Welsh mining history.
