Antique 9ct Gold Cameo Brooch Birmingham
£195.00
On offer is an antique 9ct gold cameo brooch hallmarked for Birmingham, 1866. This 19th-century piece features a finely carved shell cameo depicting a classical female profile, mounted in an unusually substantial gold setting. Unlike the typical small bezel mounts used on many cameo brooches, this example has a full mount with a broad flared skirt, adding both presence and rarity to the design.
The brooch remains in very good condition for its age, with a total weight of approximately 8 grams and a size of around 40mm. A distinguished Victorian gold cameo and a notable survivor of mid-19th-century British jewellery craftsmanship.
