Rare 1806 Book Codice Di Napoleon Napoleonic occupation of Italy

£ 495.00

On offer here is a very rare book. Here we have a copy of the Codice Di Napoleon dated 1806. however, there are over fifty pages of handwritten amendments or additional laws/rules handwritten and dated 1809. I don’t speak the language however I have been able to translate quite a bit, the book is about the French occupation of Italy, and I have been able to identify entries for the Secretary of state, the Secretary-General, the Minteror of justice, etc. this book was early, and had the additions painstakingly added.  This is a soft back book that has worn most of the covering off, all the paper is laid paper with a watermark seal. and the book measures ta approx 9.5 inches by 7 inches.

Napoleon invited Italy in 1796 Soon after Napoleon claimed the title of emperor in 1804, the Italian Republic became a kingdom, proclaimed on March 17, 1805. Napoleon, as king of Italy, appointed his stepson, Eugène de Beauharnais, as viceroy and Antonio Aldini as secretary of state, forcing Melzi to step aside.

I have here the Codice Di Napoleon book dated 1806 with over 50 pages of handwritten additions dated 1809. this is a very early book and no doubt one of the earliest of the Codice Di Napoleons produced after he became king of Italy.
