Porcelain Plates Copeland Victorian Hand Painted Floral Pair
£75.00
On offer is a pair of Victorian Copeland porcelain plates dating to around 1880. Each plate is finely hand painted with delicate floral garlands in soft tones of pink, blue, purple, and green, arranged around a central wreath and scattered sprigs, all set against a clean white ground. The scalloped rims are finished with gilt edging, a refined decorative feature typical of Copeland tableware of the late 19th century.
Copeland was the successor to the Spode partnership and became one of Britain’s most respected porcelain manufacturers during the Victorian period, particularly admired for high quality wares and accomplished hand painted decoration. Both plates measure approximately 9 inches in diameter and are in very good antique condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Light age related surface wear may be present, consistent with their age and careful use.
A charming and well preserved pair of Victorian Copeland porcelain plates that display the elegance and craftsmanship of 19th century English ceramics.
