On offer is a pair of antique 19th century Victorian brass tapestry hanging plates, each decorated with finely cast floral and geometric detailing typical of the period. Although similar in form to door push plates, both examples feature a raised section at the base designed to allow a textile or hanging to slot securely behind, supporting the interpretation that they were purpose-made for tapestry display. They retain a pleasing original patina to the reverse and measure approximately 12 inches in length. Condition is good, with one plate showing a slight bend at the base as seen in the images.
