Jan Van Couver was a working name used by Hermanus Koekkoek the Younger, 1836 to 1909, a member of the prominent Dutch Koekkoek family of artists. He became particularly recognised for his detailed Dutch river, canal and coastal scenes.

This signed Jan Van Couver watercolour is mounted, framed and glazed. An old Wm Whiteley Ltd Fine Art Department label remains attached to the back. The painted image is in good condition, with some age related wear to the frame.
