On offer is a miniature miner’s lamp constructed from copper, brass, glass and repurposed British coins. Standing approximately 3 inches tall, it reproduces the familiar form of a traditional safety lamp on a remarkably small scale.

The base incorporates a 1942 brass threepence, while the top appears to have been made from a halfpenny rather than a farthing. The copper body is marked GMH and PH on one side and SEJ on the reverse. Believed to be apprentice made, this miniature miner’s lamp is an engaging example of British coin art and handcrafted mining memorabilia.
