Condition

The painting remains in good visual condition for its age, with expected surface darkening, minor marks and general age related wear.

The frame is heavily worn and damaged, with numerous chips, losses and abrasions to the gilded finish and applied moulded decoration. There are losses around the edges and corners, separation at some of the mitred joints and evidence of previous repairs or touching in. The extensive frame wear is clearly shown in the photographs.
