On offer is a striking mid century West German Carstens vase in the sought-after Moon Crater design. Made in West Germany and bearing the mould number 7807-25, this sculptural ceramic piece displays the bold textured surface and volcanic glaze effects associated with Carstens during the 1960s–70s. Carstens Tönnieshof was one of the leading West German art pottery producers of the era, recognised for its innovative forms and richly tactile finishes.

The vase stands 25 cm tall and features an angular body with an applied circular side handle, enhanced by the cratered relief pattern. There is glaze flaking and chipping on both sides, shown clearly in the images. A strong example of the West German Carstens vase aesthetic with distinctive Moon Crater decoration.
