Ola Gorie, a leading figure in 20th-century Scottish jewellery, is well known for her innovative Orkney designs and became one of the first modern craftspeople to revive traditional Scottish metalworking forms. This piece bears the early OMG maker’s mark associated with her earlier production period.

The brooch measures approximately 40mm in diameter and displays a polished tiger eye cabochon with its characteristic chatoyancy. Although the silver mark is not visible, the brooch carries the early Ola Gorie stamp; for the purpose of accuracy it is listed here as white metal. A striking and sizable example of Ola Gorie’s distinctive organic style.
