On offer is a large antique Victorian majolica jug decorated with wolves in a woodland setting. The animals and surrounding landscape are moulded in high relief and finished in naturalistic earthy glazes, with a contrasting pink glazed interior.

Basketweave and floral borders decorate the upper and lower sections, adding further texture to this impressive Victorian majolica wolves jug. The unmarked base has an unglazed patch bearing the painted code P4X. This has previously suggested a possible George Jones and Sons attribution, although the maker remains unconfirmed.

The jug is in good antique condition and remains structurally sound. There is a small old tight hairline at the tip of the spout, as shown in the images.
