A Hukin & Heath Birmingham Silver Plated And Cut Glass Biscuit Barrel . This superb silver plated and cut glass biscuit barrel was produced by Hukin & Heath in Birmingham during the Edwardian period.
The handle, lid, rim and knop are in silver plate The knop to the lid is shaped with a square plaque with the word BISCUITS and is attached with a twisted rope effect and is held underneath the lid with a wing nut.
The ovoid shaped cut glass body has a diamond cut decoration with rope twist and cut circles.
The silver plated rim has the impressed H & H marks as shown in the picture.
Condition on this piece is very good with no chips, cracks, staining or loss to the silver plate, just minimal wear which commensurate with age.
size with out taking in to account the handle is approx 5.5 inches tall, this is a small but beautiful example.
