Produced by Samson Edmé et Cie of Paris, the plate is made from thick, heavy porcelain and reflects the firm’s exceptional ability to recreate the finest European and Chinese porcelain designs of earlier centuries.

Founded in Paris during the nineteenth century, Samson became internationally renowned for producing high quality porcelain inspired by factories including Meissen, Sèvres and Chinese export wares. Today, Samson armorial porcelain plates are collected in their own right for their craftsmanship and decorative appeal. This example measures approximately 10 inches in diameter, bears a characteristic Samson pseudo mark to the reverse, and remains in good condition with a glaze line and surface marks to the back as shown in the photographs.
