On offer is a good quality hand carved and hand painted wood duck decoy, beautifully modelled with carved feather detail and realistic painted finish. Unlike many decorative examples, the feather patterning on this piece has been carved into the body rather than simply painted, giving it a far more authentic and tactile appearance.

Traditional wooden duck decoys were originally produced as working hunting pieces before becoming highly collectable forms of folk art and country sporting memorabilia. Hand carved examples with glass eyes and detailed carving remain especially sought after today for their craftsmanship and rustic character.

This duck retains its original glass eyes and measures approximately 9 inches long. Condition is good overall with some minor chips and cracks from age and use, as shown in the images. A decorative and characterful piece that would suit country house interiors, sporting collections, or rustic décor displays.
