English Arts and Crafts Newlyn Hammered Copper Tray Large Rectangular
£155.00
On offer is a large English Arts and Crafts hammered copper tray made by the Newlyn School, a celebrated Cornish workshop known for hand-raised and repoussé copperwork produced from the late 19th into the early 20th century. This stamped example shows the characteristic textured hammering associated with Newlyn metalworkers, with a shaped central cartouche suitable for engraving if desired.
The front has been partially cleaned yet retains small marks that could be polished further if preferred, while the reverse preserves its original aged patina. The tray shows a few minor dents consistent with age and use. Measuring approximately 18.5 × 13 inches, it is a substantial and decorative piece of Newlyn copper.
