English Pottery Handled Bowl Crown Ducal Exotic Bird 1920s
£20.00
On offer is an English pottery handled bowl produced by Crown Ducal during the 1920s. Decorated in the Exotic Bird pattern, the bowl features a finely painted bird among stylised foliage, finished with a softly shaped rim and twin handles accented with gentle gilding. The word Victorian is impressed to the base, understood to be the pattern name used by Crown Ducal for this design.
Crown Ducal was a trade name used by A G Richardson of Staffordshire, a firm well known for producing decorative and fashionable tablewares in the early 20th century. Their Exotic Bird patterns reflect the popularity of colourful natural motifs during the interwar years, combining elegant form with detailed decoration.
This bowl dates to approximately 1925 to 1930 and measures just under 7 inches wide and around 3.25 inches high. Condition is good, with no chips or cracks noted. A well preserved and attractive example of Crown Ducal pottery from the period.
