On offer is a twentieth century English pottery vase by Fieldings Crown Devon. It has a satin black ground decorated with a finely detailed white transfer scene of two horses beneath a flowering tree. The flared body has a softly scalloped rim, contrasting white interior and raised pedestal foot.

Crown Devon was the trade name of S Fielding and Company, which produced pottery in Stoke on Trent from the late nineteenth century until 1982. Marked on the base, this Crown Devon horse vase is an attractive example of English decorative pottery with a strong monochrome design.
