Creigiau Pottery was known for its hand-painted ceramics and limited-run community pieces, many of which were created to mark important local and national events. This plate commemorates the South Wales Miners Relief Fund during the 1984–85 miners’ strike and highlights the vital role of women’s support within the coalfield communities.

The plate is fully hand-painted and inscribed South Wales Miners Relief Fund Strike 1984–85 In appreciation of women’s support From middle of the coalfield. At the centre is a winding wheel motif placed over a gold-painted NUM emblem. Measuring approximately 9.5 inches in diameter, it remains in good condition with no chips or cracks. A meaningful and historically significant piece connected to the Welsh mining heritage of the 1980s.
