On offer is a twentieth century Chinese porcelain vase decorated with two red birds among bamboo and colourful flowering plants. Traditional Chinese calligraphy appears on the front and reverse, accompanied by small red seal marks.

The white porcelain body has a smooth, high gloss glaze and a gently rounded form with a flared neck. The red seal mark beneath the base appears to read Jingdezhen zhi, meaning made in Jingdezhen. Jingdezhen has been an important centre of Chinese porcelain production for centuries. UNESCO
