Chinese Porcelain Blanc de Chine Vase or Lamp Base

On offer is a 20th century Chinese porcelain Blanc de Chine vase, produced in Dehua white porcelain and designed with a pierced openwork body. The vase incorporates applied figures within the lattice pattern and features stylised loop handles to the neck, reflecting traditional Blanc de Chine decorative forms. Owing to the pierced construction, the vase was never intended to hold water, and the existing hole in the base suggests it was made suitable for use as a lamp base if desired.

Standing at approximately 10.5 inches tall, the piece is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. A fine example of modern Blanc de Chine craftsmanship with attractive openwork detail.
