Kangxi Blue and White Porcelain Tea Bowl 18th Century Octagonal Form
£ 125.00
On offer is a rare and finely painted 18th-century Chinese Kangxi period blue and white porcelain tea bowl. This elegant octagonal example is decorated with beautifully executed underglaze-blue lotus scroll panels, a classic motif of the Kangxi reign renowned for its clarity of cobalt and refined brushwork. The rim carries a neatly painted wave border, adding to the bowl’s balanced and decorative presentation.
The tea bowl remains in very good condition for its age, with tiny nibbles to the rim and a small flake to the lower body, as shown in the images. There are no cracks and no restoration. The bowl measures approximately 1½ in (3.8 cm) high and 2½ in (6.4 cm) diameter.
A rare octagonal form and a fine piece of early Qing Dynasty porcelain from one of the most admired periods of Chinese ceramic production.
