Chinese Famille Rose Medallion Vase Guangxu Period 19th Century
£395.00
On offer is an antique Chinese Famille Rose medallion vase dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, likely produced during the Guangxu era of the Qing Dynasty. The vase is hand-painted in the vibrant Famille Rose palette with a pink ground and white medallions featuring Bao Xiang Hua (precious floral) motifs. This decorative style also shows strong influence from Peranakan Straits Nyonya ware, known for its bright enamels and auspicious floral themes.
Standing at approximately 12 inches tall, the vase includes moulded green-glazed mythical beast handles and raised floral detailing around the neck and shoulder. The enamel colours remain fresh and well applied. Condition is very good with no chips or cracks, with only a light surface scratch visible within one floral panel. A finely painted and highly decorative Qing-period example suitable for collectors of late imperial porcelain.
