The caddy is formed in an unusual curved shape, characteristic of later nineteenth century decorative woodworking from Tunbridge Wells, renowned for its intricate tessellated inlaid work. The interior contains two compartments with replacement screw handles to the lids.

The piece shows signs of age, including sun bleaching to one side, veneer losses and small chips around the base and corners. Despite these issues, it remains a desirable Tunbridge Ware tea caddy with strong decorative appeal and the potential to restore further. A fine example of antique Tunbridge Ware, rich in character and craftsmanship.
