On offer is an antique Swiss Thun majolica vase dating from the late nineteenth to early twentieth century. Standing approximately 11.5 inches tall, this substantial vase has a dark glazed ground decorated with hand painted flowers, trailing foliage and geometric borders.

The floral decoration includes daisies and forget me nots in cobalt blue, rust red, green and ivory. Twin curled handles frame the neck, while patterned bands decorate the rim, shoulder and foot. Thun majolica developed in the Heimberg and Steffisburg area near Thun and became particularly popular between approximately 1871 and 1914. This antique Swiss Thun majolica vase is a richly decorated example of regional folk pottery associated with the Arts and Crafts period.
