On offer here is a 19th-century German porcelain fairing, This example was produced by Conta and Boehme as part of their Mr top hat series. This fairing is Mr Top Hat sitting on a sugar scuttle. Originally a sugar scuttle would have a shovel that would slide in the top bar and sugar in the main compartment. I have seen these fairings sold as a table salt and as a match holder so I will leave the use up to you. It measures at approx 4 inches high 3.5 inches long. The condition is good, it has some minor flea bite fretting to the flowers as expected.
