Edwardian Silver Plated Biscuit Box by Walker and Hall

On offer is an antique Edwardian silver plated biscuit box or barrel, produced by the esteemed Sheffield firm Walker and Hall. Designed as a versatile household piece, this form was commonly marketed in the early 20th century as a multi-purpose container suitable for biscuits, ice, or even wine cooling. Walker and Hall were one of Britain’s leading silversmiths, active from the mid-19th century and widely respected for their high-quality plated wares.

This example features ornate engraved decoration and a striking ivory finial to the lid. It stands at approximately 8 inches tall and rests on four ball feet. Condition is good for its age, showing plate wear and minor surface abrasions consistent with long-term use.
