On offer is an antique English ceramic match holder and striker produced by Carlton Ware. This compact spherical form is decorated with an armorial crest to the body and features an integrated striker surface, combining practical function with decorative appeal.

Carlton Ware was established in Stoke on Trent in the late 19th century and became widely recognised for its high quality decorative ceramics, including novelty wares and finely finished household items. Match strikers such as this example were commonly produced in the late Victorian and Edwardian periods and are now highly collectible pieces of English ceramic history.

The match striker stands at approximately 70 mm high. Condition is good with no chips or cracks, showing minor wear to the armorial decoration and light marks consistent with age and use. A fine example of an English Carlton Ware match striker that retains both character and authenticity.
