Antique Brass Figure Our Lady of Lebanon Harissa
£125.00
On offer is a rare antique brass figure depicting Our Lady of Lebanon, Harissa, dating to the early twentieth century. This devotional brass figure is modelled after the celebrated Marian statue erected in 1907 at Harissa overlooking Beirut, one of the most important Christian pilgrimage sites in Lebanon.
Finely cast in brass, the figure shows the Virgin Mary with outstretched hands, standing upon a stepped base that houses a built in music box. The music box still plays, although the spring mechanism no longer works automatically and must be activated manually by pulling the pin. The figure stands approximately 8 inches tall. The feet have been replaced with rubber pads which are slightly undersized, making the piece a little wobbly. Overall condition is good for its age with expected surface wear.
A scarce early twentieth century Our Lady of Lebanon Harissa brass figure with devotional and historical interest.
