On offer is an antique black glazed pottery teapot believed to be Jackfield ware or made in the manner of the Jackfield tradition. Standing 4.5 inches tall, it has a lustrous black glaze, rounded body, curved handle and an unglazed earthenware base with visible turning marks.

Jackfield ware originated in Shropshire during the eighteenth century and became known for its distinctive glossy black glazed pottery. The teapot remains in good overall condition, although the lid has some chips consistent with age and use.
